Three interchanges are included in the project: one between Emigrant Gap and Carpenter Flat, one at Yuba Gap, andoneat the Highway 20 junction. An overhead structure at Emigrant Gap will crossthe railroad tracks under the freeway. Only one section of US/ INT 80 onthe 120 miles between the Capital and Nevada now remains which is not either completed or under construction, This is the 6.3-mile stretch from the Highway 2 junction to Hampshire Rocks three miles east of Cisco Grove, It will probably get started next year. The 5.1-mile unit from 0.8-mile west of Monte Vista to 0,7-mile east of Baxter is about 75 per cent complete and is expected to be finished by the end of the year, The grading and construction of bridges structures on the 10,5-mile section over the rocky Sierra summit is being done under two separate contracts--one for the west side and one for the east. Both are expected to be , completed bynext year, weather permitting.
