The $2, 23 tax rate is broken down with $1 going to the general fund, 29 cents to the park and recreation fund, 35 cents to the sewage fund, 20 cents to the library fund, 24 cents to the bond redemption fund and 15 cents to the employees retirement fund, City manager Beryl Robinson told the council that the only change made in distribution of the frrds came in a lowering of (Continued on Page 20) Chamber of Commerce president Ralph Friedrich, In their telegram to Governor Brown signed by Mayor Arch McPherson said "The Nevada City Councilurges that your office investigate the accumulating, continuing and completely frustrating delays in the construction of the freeway within Nevada City and respectfully request an assurance of no further dilatoriness, " In the message to Bradford, the mayor said, "The Nevada City Council protests past delays, current delays and probable future delays in the construction of the Nevada City Freeway, Delays and postponed completion dates are destroying our economic life and community ' THE NEVADA CITY segment of the freeway, which is finally beginning to look like a road, was shutdown briefly last week, while state highway officials, representatives of the contractor and bonding company officials conferred on why this job and three others being constructed by Norman I, Fadel are behind schedule. Work resumed on a limited scale this week and more conferences are scheduled on the condition of the construction firm.
