Pardini Mr. and Mrs. David L. Pardini are at home in Santa Rosa following their marriage August 5 in St. Mary’s Chapel, Grass‘ Valley. The Rev. J oseph Vereker officiated at the double ring ceremony. ‘ The new Mrs. Pardini is the former Sharon Patricia Grant, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James P. Grant, Jr., 418 Butler Street, Grass Valley. Mr. and Mrs. Edward J. Pardini, Sr., Star Route, Grass Valley, are the parents of the groom. The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, chose a wedding gown. of silk embroidered taffeta crystal designed in the Empire style. The gown featured a fitted bodice, bell sleeves edged with embroidery and a slight Aline skirt finished at the hemline with the same type of embroidery. A crown made of acluster of small roses secured her full length silk illusion veil. She carried a bridal bouquet of Jack Frost baby roses with ivy. Therese Grant, sister of the bride, was the maid of honor. Veronica Landry was the secondary attendant. Both attendants wore Empire style gowns of lime-green bonding overlaid with white lace, with the hodice seam girded by leaf green velvet ribbon. They carried bouquets of yellow roses with green fern. Edward Pardini, Jr., brother of the groom, served as best man. Jim Giblin was the usher. Mrs. Grant, ther of the bride, chose a soft blue and beige print cream jacket dress, with matc! hat and accessories, for her daughter’s wedding. A beige orchid corsage completed her ensemble. Mrs. Pardini, Sr., mother of the groom, wore a-champagne-beige dress with splashing pink accessories. She chose a pink tinged orchid for her corsage. Mr. Robert Peterson was the vocalist, accompanied on the organ by Mrs. Grace Raymond Porter. The home of the bride’s parents, beautifully decorated with white roses and leaf green ribbon, was the locale for the reception. The guests were served a three tiered wedding cake decorated with a cascade of frosty white roses, and made by Mrs. Sandra Pardini. For her wedding trip, the new bride chose a mint green suit with white accessories and an orchid lei sent by a friend in Hawaii. The bride graduated from St. Mary’s High and Chico State College, where she received her degree in English. She then completed a graduate year to receive teaching credentials. The groom graduated from Nevada Union High School and Chico State College, where he received his degree in Science. He also completed a further year’s training in Medical Technology. e is presently employed in Santa Rosa as a medical technologist.Guests at the wedding and reception were members of the immediate family. ; Sharon Brattin Shower Honoree Miss Sharon Brattin was the guest of honor recently at a pre-nuptial shower given by Melinda Brown at her Ridge Road home. The garden shower, accented by colored lights and bridal bells, was attended by the Mesdames Shirley Brattin, Joseph Henwood, Wayne Brown, Melvin Winslow, Spencer Osterholt, Gary Penrose, Robert Milligan and Phil Wagner. Other guests attending were Gail Thomas, Suellen Renfrow, Margaret Sheridan, Annette Eissinger, Jean Pearson, Joyce Little, Linda Hartman, Roberta Frost, Sharon Carroll and Pam Hockett. Miss Brattin will become the bride of Thomas Donnell on Saturday at a ceremony to be performedin the Grass Valley First Methodist Church. Alma Colvin To Wed Alma L. Colvin and Paul Ramm announced their engagement and plana Nevada wedding soon. The couple plan to honeymoon in Nevada City and then
make their home in Fremont, Calif. where the groom is employed by the Telephone Co. Betty Kelso to Wed in Fall The engagement of Mrs. Betty Kelso, daughter of Mrs. Francis Steele of Grass Valley to Dr. Roger Lukes was announced recently at the home of the future bride’s grandfather, O. G. Steele in Yreka. The bride-to-be’s brother, Major O. K. Steele of the Marine Corps, was present for the engagement announcement dinner party as well as were his wife and their two children. Mrs. Francis Steele was also present at the announcement party. Mrs. Kelso attended Grass Valley schools and worked in this area before moving to Yreka three years ago. The’ future groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Lukes of Yreka. MR. AND MRS. JAMES HOWARD Photo by Mills Studio Ernest Youngs Host Reception for Mr. and Mrs. James Howard The Ernest Youngs were hosts for 75 guests July 29 to greet newlyweds Ruth and James Howard, who were married earlier the same day in the little wedding chapel in Carson City, Nev. . The former Ruth Teifel, daughter of Mrs. Walter Kolb on Newtown Rd., and W. H. Imus of Alta Hill Rd., exchanged wedding vows with the son of Mrs. Lloyd Sams of Colfax. Hors d’oeuvres, punch and slices from the three tiered wedding cake were served the guests at the Youngs’ Boulder St., Nevada City, home. . The couple left for a wedding trip along the Pacific coast with the new Mrs. Howard wearing a pink taffeta gown, pink accessories and her bridal corsage of red rose buds. Sierra City Wedding Unites Linda Butler David McMahan ote — Butler and David Forrest McMahan exchanged w vows and s Aug. 18 in the Sierra City Conger Cherce ™ : _The Rev. Edward Dabritz performed the evening rites as the bride’s father, Bonald L. Butler, escorted her down the aisle and gave her in marriage. The Donald Butlers are residents of Sierra City as are the groom’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Forrest S. McMahan. Mrs. Frank’ Tabor played organ music and Mrs. Earl Withycombe was soloist. Linda chose a white lace over nylon streetlength gown for her wedding and carried a white bible covered with white orchids and stephanotis and ivy for her bouquet. Sandra was her sister’s maid of honor and Kathy her sister’s bridesmaid. Both attendants wore matching gold A line gowns, white accessories and bouquets of gold daisies dn green net. Mrs. Butler wore a two piece beige suit and a Corsage of yellow roses for the wedding. The mother of the groom attended in a blue knit dress of imported linen and a corsage of pink roses. _ Terry Foster of Downieville saw duty as best man and Bob Thomason was usher. White gladiolas and stock and lemon leaves decorated the Sierra City Community Hall for a reception which followed the wedding. Over 250 guests greeted the newlyweds before they left on their wedding trip to Packer Lake area. Mr. and Mrs. McMahan attended Downieville oon and are now making their home in Sierra
