Public Works Calls For Bids The Division of Architecture last week called for bids on the Division of Highways’ District III Maintenance Station at Kingvale, near Soda Springs. The project comprises its development for the station and construction of sevén new buildings totaling approximately 52,000 square feet of floor area. A 28,500-foot equipment building and a. gas and oil storage and service building are now nearing cempletion under another cone tract. The Kingvale station will' have a three-story dormi. tory building and complete dining facilities for 92 crew membets engaged in maintaining the relocated US 40 over Donner Summit. The concrete floors of the dining and recreation building ;and connecting passageways to the dormitory and equipment garage’ will have radiant heat, as will the concrete floor slabs of the equipment building and gas and oil building. Other facilities include a carport for 50 cars, a sand storage building, a warehouse and two three-bedroom residences for the supervisory staff and their families, The site of the new station is flanked by ‘the old and new alignments of US 42, about three miles west of Soda Springs. Bids will be opened in Sacfamento Sept. 13. Fends allocated for the project total approximately $1,000,000. Louisiana’s.
