Pair Says Vows
In Grass Valley
Mr. and Mrs. Willard Wade
Scott, married recently in the
First Methodist Church in Grass
Valley, are making their home
in Nevada City.
The bride, the former D’Arcy
Ellen Murphy, is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Sidney E. Murphy
of the Penn Valley District, near
Grass Valley. She was given ia
marriage by her uncle, Fred R.
Murphy.
Mrs. Betty Scott, sister-in-law
of the bridegroom, was the matron of honor and Mrs. Barbara
Wortell and Jeanne Nencini, both
cousins of the bride, performed
Mack Scott attended his brother, and Jack Scott, another brother, and Thomas Murphy, the
bride’s brother, seated the guests.
Mrs. Scott was graduated from
Nevada Union High School and
Sierra College and attended Chico
State College. She was active in
the 4-H Club and is a former
Nevada County 4-H All-Star.
‘Her husband, the son of. Mrs.
Nola Ince of Grass Valley, attended Nevada County schools
and recently completed four years
of duty with the Navy.
Truckee-Kings Road
Portion Completed
Placer County Road Commissioner Bruno Bacci this week announced that work has been completed on the 4.4-mile section of
reconstruction on the TruckeeKings Beach Short Cut.
The recently completed project
extends from the Placer-Nevada
County line to a point 5.6 miles
from Kings Beach and provides
two 12-foot lanes of asphalt pavment. The new construction of
this portion of the Short Cut generally follows a new alignment
near the old route.
Bacci said the Granite Construction Company of Watsonville
satisfactorily completed the $292,695 project on schedule, and that
the work is acceptable for maintenance by the county.
Dennis Smith, Placer County
Road Department, was resident
engineer for the job.
The Short Gut is a Federal Aid
Secondary route, and the reconstruction project was financed
jointly by federal, state and PlaState Fair Rodeo

Dove-Pigeon Season
At its July 27 meeting, the
Fish and Game Commission formally adopted hunting seasons for
doves and bandtailed pigeons.
Doves may be hunted from September 1 through 30, and bandtailed pigeons’ may be hunted
October iv through 11 in the
northern counties of Del Norte,
Siskiyou, Modoc, Lassen, Shasta,
Humboldt, Mendocina, Trinity,
and Tehama. In; the rest of the
state, pigeons may be hunted
from December 11 through January 10. :
The bag limit on pigeons is six
a day and no person may possess
more than this number at any
one time. :
On doves, the bag limit is 10
per day. Possession limit is also
10. The limit may be of either
species or the: aggregate of both
species (mourning or turtle doves
and. white-winged dbves).Archery Deer
Hunts Announced
Two archery deer hunts were
announced by the Department of
Fish and Game, one in the East
Bay area of Alameda and Contra
Costa Counties, and-one in Los
Angeles County.
In the East Bay. archery deer
hunt, one deer of either sex may
be taken with bow and arrow
from September 14, 1959, to February 29, 1960, or until 400 deer
have been taken, whichever occurs first.
