The ballot, according to Asst.
County Counsel Brian Bishop,
offered three proposals. Bishop
indicated that uncertainty: of the
outcome centers upon requirements: concerning the majority
of ‘yes and no votes required
to carry or reject the proposal,
The board at an earlier meeting accepted the county clerk's
official canvass of the election
which merely formalized the
facts that the election was held
and the number of.people voting,
but: did not indicate the results.
"T have been bombarded with
questions concerning the outcome,” Supervisor Bob Long
‘said-Tuesday.
Dean Lawrence was concerned about "what the election
meant", and “suggested that the
board may have to act on the
matter. The election was held
¢ by order of the board.

with the county clerk's office,
an attorney who he “believed”
authored the wording of the ballot and others and promised that
he would hand deliver a. copy
of his opinion to the clerk's
office and to Long before the
end of the week. .
The board voted to consider
the outcome of the election and
the opinion as a "special order
of business" next Tuesday.
