The angling regulations will
be set during Friday's session. '
Also scheduled for consideration Friday isa report by the
Department of Fish and Game on
a proposed hunting and sportfishing license increase.
The commission initially received angling recommendations:

Game and the public at a meeting
in Sacramento, Oct. 2, The proposed regulations, or determinations, were announced after a
public hearing Oct, 30 in RedHighlighting the proposed regulations is a recommendation
for an all-year trout season in
lakes and reservoirs throughout
California, with the exception of
Alpine, Inyo and Mono counties.
The proposal would provide for a
limit of 10 fish May 1 through
Nov. 15 and a limit of five fish
during the balance of the year.
DFG Director G. Ray Arnett

benefit from their own generosity when Senate Bill 3927 becomes law upon President Nixon's signature,

per cent excise tax on handguns
from general’ revenue to use
primarily in wildlife restoration and hunter safety programs. -This is not anewtax -merely
a redirection of an existing tax
into more appropriate channels,

Game issued a reminder today
that free fishing licenses. are
available for senior citizensonly —
‘under conditions strictly limited
by statelaw.
The DFG pointed out that free
licenses. are authorized only for:
1, Persons receiving aidtothe .
Old under the California
Age Security (OAS) law, not federal Social Security, Such licensés are valid for all fishing.
2. Women over 62 and men
over.65 who have been resiengage

years immediately preceding

couples, Income includes salaries, pensions, interest, rents
and other forms of income, Licenses: issued to these persons
are valid only for ocean fishing,

Persons receiving aid to the
aged and who desire a free
fishing license may obtain an
application from their county
welfare officer. Persons who are
not .receiving such aid but who
