Mrs. Maggie Jordon of Hollywood is visiting her daughter and family Mr. and Mrs, Ron Ulrey, at Depot Hill. Joe Frankovich made a brief business visit to Challenge and Strawberry Valley last week. Mr. and Mrs, Wesley Hedrick have moved into the Sehorn Trailer Home of Upper Main Street. CAMPTONVILLE, DEC, 1. Mrs. Maggie Jordon of Hollywood arrived recently to visit her daughter and family Mr. and Mrs, Ron Ulrey at Depot Hill. Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Bagby and daughters spent Thanksgiving visiting his parents at Loomis, Mrs. Serena Palmer left this week for the state of Washington to visit relatives. Mr. and Mrs, Paul Gevas and family came over from Lake Tahoe on @ week end visit to their former home here. Mr. and Mrs. Don Humphrey made a trip to Greenville, Plumas County to attend the funeral of his late brother Edmond Humphrey. Mrs, Acton M, Cleveland returned home Wednesday from the Rideout Fospital at Marysville where she has been confined with illness, Mrs, Myrtle Eggers and daughter Martha have moved from the Oregon House to Camptonville and are residing in their former home on Spring Street. Gary Winebarger is recovering from a broken leg caused from a recent accident while skiing. iy Mr. and Mrs, Newman Cleveland and Mrs. Teresa Williams of Judsonis, Oklahoma, were visitors in town Thursday. J. L. Synons, of San Jose, was in town on business Thursday. The Bingo Party held in the banquet room of the local Masonic Temple, sponsored by the Camptonville Improvement Club last Saturday evening met with a big success and with such a large attendance that some were turned away for lack of room to play.
Many local people along with merchants in the Nevada CityGrass Valley area contributed many donations of merchandise to be used as prizes, and many useful and valuable prizes were won by those participating. Refreshments were also served during the evening and a good time had by all in attendance, with requests for a repetition of the affair in the not too far off future. The committee for the Bingo Party was composed of Mrs. Judith McDowell, Mrs, Marguerite Peden and Floyd Pearson, and the money collected will be used for the futherence of various improvements for the town as planned by the Club. Mrs, Chester was in town over the weekend on a brief visit. Alan Stuart, who is stationed with the U.S. Navy at Treasure Island is spending a vacation visit with his grandmother Mrs, Grace Pauly. The 22 girls already accepted into the program are junBUSINESS BILLBOARD iors and seniors in high school, and 20 more sophomore girls will become eligible for the program in January, 19773.
