spiritwas not lacking. Mrs. C. Berryman of Grass ‘Valley got
the doll and with it a problem of her own---which of ten
children should find the doll under the Christmas tree.

the Road Commissioner for
Mr. Adolph Meskovitz appeared before the Board
and entered into a discussion on the need for the
county to have legal representation on the Interstate
Cempact Commission, and
a mection was made, duly
seconded and. passed unanimously, to enter into negotiations with Mr. Moskovitz
to represent the County of
Nevada.

appeared before the Board
and entered into a discussion on the transfer of a
county resident to Weimar
for an operation and Supervisor Robinson was requested to find if it was economically feasible to transfer the patient.

The field training exercise, emphasizing night
withdrawal and attack, was

training program conducted

Carnegie, a pharmacist in

in March, 1959, and received
basic combat training at

No. 239 (an Ordinance
amending Ordinance No.
196) and a motion was made
by Supervisor Loehr, duly
seconded, to adopt Ordinance No. 239 and upon a
roll call ballot, a unanimous
vote was recorded.
Mr. Larry Quimby appeared before the Board as
Foreman of the 1960 Grand
Jury and again recommended that the County appoint
the County Auditor as exofficio County Controller
and gave various reasons
why the Grand Jury felt
a County -Controller was
necessary. Mr. Al Boreland,
hairman of the County
Offices Committee, gave
reasons why the Grand Jury
felt the Centroller appointment should be made and
also stated that he felt an
ordinance should be adopted setting forth the qualifications for the County Auditor-Controller as contained
in the Government Code. A
motion was made by Supervisor Loehr, duly seconded, directing the District
Attorney to prepare a resolution creating the office of
County Controller and an
ordinance to implement the
Qualifications Bill as contained in the Government

property owners would be
in a position to provide the
county with deeds for the

and stated that she was
representing a group of
people present in the audience about the Lower Colfax Road, commonly known
as the “shortcut read,” and
stated that their investigations proved that a deed to
that road was given to the
