Funds allotted A new Nevada City establishment
for two jobs .
on Route 49
SACRAMENTO — The funds
required for two Route 49 improvements projects in Nevada
county were allocated today by
the California Highway Commisson during a business meeting
held in Sacramento:
The first requires the addition
of a left turn lane at Higgins
Corner, approximately 11 miles
south of Grass Valley. Conflict
sometimes occurs there between through traffic and vehicles intent on making left turns.
The California Division. of
Highways’ estimates” the’ work
will cost $18,000.
The second project requires
construction of: passing lanes
at two locations approximately
five miles north of Nevada City.
Route 49 is a narrow, two-lane
mountain road in this vicinity
and bottlenecks occur when
trucks and other slow. moving:
vehicles are climbing its steep
grades.
My entire staff joins
me in wishing you ..
one and dall..a
very Merry
Christmas
Please accept our
thanks
for your
generous patronage.
