EDITORIAL — AS WE SEE IT
The difference between Christmas today and the original celebration. of Christ's birthday is that too many times we are attracted by advertisements and have overshadowed the real
reason of giving.
The Wisemen, with their gifts, followed the star to the manger where Jesus lay. Thus
began the tradition of giving to show appreciation, love, and peace, We have adopted Santa Claus
as the bearer of gifts. Yet, under present day advertisement and commercialization many young
children are raised with Santa Claus foremost in their association of Christmas,
Jesus Christ, He's what Christmas is really all about. Millions of dollars are spent advertising each year by businesses, eager to benefit by the "Season of Giving". The Season of
Giving means much more than simply giving material items, So this season don't let the celebration of Christ's birthday be lost in the advertisements and be buried in the Christmas wrappings. JUDI STOBER
