Wolverine Cagers Meet Wasps
The Sierra College Wolverines
open their home basketball season
with the Sacramento State Frosh
on Saturday night. Tipoff time
against the Wasps will be 8 p.m.
On Friday night, the Sierra five

will travel to Sacramento City
College to meet the Panthers from
the Valley Conference. The game
willbegin at7 p.m., rather than
the traditional 8 p.m.
The game with the SSC Frosh
will be the first between the two
schools, The Wolverines split
their two games with Sac City
last year, winning the first 72-67
and losing the second 76-59.
Coach George Goto has named
a tentative starting lineup for the
weekend contests. The five Sierra

State Approves Planting 20,000
Pounds Of Trout In Lake Tahoe
A Department of Fish and Game
proposal to plant up to 20,000
pounds of 12-inch rainbow trout in
Lake Tahoe each year was approved by the California Fish and
Game Commission at a November
6 meeting in Redding.
The proposal was based on findings of the Lake Tahoe Fisheries
Study which determined that
planting. These include George.
Warner and Alan Pollitt of Cali-.
fornia andJack Derringer and Ted
Frantz of Nevada. Their recommendations are expected by Dece mber 1.
Lake Tahoe is an all year trout
fishery and has a five fish limit
year around, —
plantings of 12-inch sized rainbow
trout yielded the best results for
anglers. The Department has been
planting approximately 20,000
pounds of various sizes and species
of fish in the lake each year during the study.
Nevada expects to plant an
additional 6,500 pounds of 12inch sized rainbow trout each
year.

force to work out a schedule of

Match Over Delta
College Mustangs
The Wolverines proved faster
than the Mustangs as the Sierra
College cross country team ran
past Delta College, 26-33. The
Mustangs from Stockton won the
first two places but Sierra got
third, fourth, fifth, sixth and
eighth to win the meet.
Bill Gunning, who has been
Sierra's outstanding runner, hurt
his leg and finished eighth.
Sierra willhost the Sacramento
State JV this Friday at 3:30. Fhe+Wolverines defeated the W asps
earlier this year in Sacramento.
