Farber, last week announced thar effective January 3 he would begin a full program of special assistance to wounded veterans of Vietnam fighting. “Beginning January 3rd, we will start a full program of assistance and counseling for Vietnam wounded veterans in all the army, navy, and airforce hospitals in California," Farber stated. "Our veterans representatives will go to the bedsides at each hospital and counsel these men as to thebenefits and help available to them through both the state and federal governments. We will even help them try to secure employment once they are out of the hospital if that's what is needed, “ The announcement comes on the heels of a November visit to the U.S. Naval Hospital in Oakland by Governor Brown and Farber where both men talked to marines whohad been wounded in Vietnam. Since that time, some counseling has been made available on a limited scale, “We must show these men, and the world, that when they return from this vicious conflict they will not be forgotten, “ said Farber, “I think the public should know that they are fighting the toughest kind of a war, a vicious kind of war -possibly the most vicious conflict of this century. We should not overlook or forget the kind of service these men are giving. And when they come back from the fighting they should know their state and nation areready to give them every service and assistance a grateful people can bestow," Tax Guide For Farmers Is Ready T he 1966 edition of "Farmers Tax Gwide™" is now available from the Farm Advisors Office, reports Les McCabe, Farm Advisor.
