Registration urged for
Sierra evening classes
ROCKLIN Frank D. Van
Vliet, director of adult education at Sierra College, has requested that students planning
to attend the evening classes
make immediate plans to regis
ter.
"We expect a heavy sign up
for all evening classes spring
semester," he stated, "and
many will be filled very early.”
The spring semester at Sierra
will begin on Monday, Feb. 3.
Students planning to register
by mail must do so prior to
Jan, 27, Brochures describing
course offerings can be requested by contacting -the Evening
College office at 5000 Rocklin
Road, Rocklin, Calif., 95677.
The brochures will be available
during the first week in Jan
uary.
Van Vliet stated that counseling for students is also available and that appointments can
be made by phoning (916) 6527273, extension 41. "Enrollment
is open to all high school graduates and to anyone over the age
of 18. We are stressing immediate action for the spring semester because of the anticipated heavy enorllment and cutbacks at the state colleges. This
will undoubtedly be reflected at
the junior college level, and
those who wait until the last
minute will probably not be able
to get the courses they want and
need,"
Additional information and ap
pointments can be obtained from
the college during week days
from 8 a.m, to 5 p.m,

"Learn the rules of the road
right now, during Christmas
vacation, while you have time for
some things not in school books,"
the Patrol commander advised.
He said that bicyclists must
ride as near the right side ofthe
roadway as practicable, and that
it is illegal to allow anyone to
ride on the handlebars,
He urged that ‘bicycle riders

side--will be reserved for the
next few months for the 20 per
cent commitment.
Only the Hills Flat application is before EDA at this time
as the treatment plant request
still requires some technical
work, However, Hales said he
feels "one will not likely materialize without the other"
eventually also being approved.
This, he said, is "because of
the importance and need of the
sewage treatment grant to make
it possible to handle the added
sewage. Hills Flat will not add
too much to the treatment plant,
but Glenbrook would add materially to it."
The vote to commit the city
to the 20 per cent was 3-1
with Hales and Councilmen Jerry
Brust and Jack Henderson voting for it. Councilman John
Hodge voted no, and Councilman Arch Brooks was out of
town for the holiday.
