Rough andReady news R&R Called Conne Baer to find out if she had any news. Conne now writes about Rough and Ready for the Independent or should I say for another newspaper. She tells me the only things happening, besides hard work, is the Rough and Ready 4H Club meeting on December 3 at the Grange Hall at 7:30 p.m. Sure hope the Christmas Tree is up by then. Conne also reminded me of the Nevada County Historical Society Installation Dinner on Sunday December 7 at the Holbrooke. Tickets are available at the usual merchants around town. I still can’t keep away from the shakes long enough to attend these affairs gracefully. It’s such a worthwhile meeting; last year’s work is reported and this year’s is planned. Wish you would all go and tell me what happens. R&R Last week I wrote about the Freedom Train but our editor edited it. I hope he will include just this one comment this time. It is a magnificent tribute to America’s Bicentennial and will be remembered for generations. See it if you can! It will be in Stockton until Wednesday. The charge is so rarely mentioned, I think you should know it is small. It’s just $1. for children and seniors and $2 for adults. R&R December 4 at 8:00 p.m. the head of our County Dept. of Public Works and our Chief Building Inspector, Terrence Lowell and Charles Coen respecitvely, will discuss Building Codes. The meeting is hosted by the Gold Quartz Democrats at the Alta Oaks Fire Hall at the Corner of Alta Hill and Ridge Road. The entrance is on Ridge Rd. The Hall is back of a garage. The public is invited. There is parking available. Last week was so filled with company that I really don’t have a bit of local news this morning. Maybe you could call my trip to the Emergency Hospital news! We really had enough turkey for everyone but I tried to add a bit of myself too. I was using a cleaver on salad vegetables and what with everyone in the kitchen talking and having such a good time I got careless. I nipped off a speck of my little finger. Watch those cleavers! = CAMPTONVILLE, Dec. 1 THE NEVADA COUNTY NUGGET — Thursday, December 4, 1975 — 11 Camptonville News California where they visited Larry B.
