MOBILE HOMES BY GLADYS HARPER Rt. 1, Box 573 Grass Valley Phone 273-8954 December is a busy month anywhere, especially in mobile homes and parks and courts, —— *=ses £2£f ee te wee SP Seu nee %xtee eF At the Grass Valley Mobile Village, five miles south of BS ” ¥ \€ Grass Valley, a big turkey dinner is being planned. Hosts of the event are co-owners, Mr. and Mrs. German. On Sunday, Dec. 10, the men will cook a breakfast. Usually they sut the windows and doors tightly because of the pancakes, which are reportedly so light and tender that they just might float away. Jerry Howard is recognized by the "villagers" as the "Pancake King," because of his mastery of the art. However, Tom Davis, manager, has proved he is also one of the best when he made cakes at the last breakfast. Mayor Northwood and Vern Cantrell are two of the fry cooks, they really put out the bacon and eggs. Every Monday, the bowling team goes down to the Gold Bowl to try to improve their skill. They expect to be a chal lenge to the other teams soon, Tuesday, is knitting class, with Mrs. Helen Holland as teacher, The women are busy making many beautiful things such as sweaters, coats and many other items. Wednesday is Art Class Day, with Mary Case as teacher, A big Art and Hobby Show is being planned early in the Spring. At Mountain Air Mobile Park we have a new resident, Mrs. May Sanderson, who has traveled all over the world and her lovely mobilhome is filled with exquisiste examples of the arts and crafts of the different nations she has visited. Mr, and Mrs. Einar Anderson have sold their lovely large home on Timbur Lane in Grass Valley and have purchased a beautiful new mobil home. Einar reportedly has a very green thumb, and it is expected by the neighbors that they will have one of the prettiest spaces in the park, Their son, Alfred, is interested in horses and has many trophies on display to show his skill with them, There are also three artists in the park. Mrs. Kenny, Miss Barbara Kenny and Mrs. Drusilla D, Lane. Three generations of one family and all artists in their field. We are very proud of them. Many mobil home owners in this area have voiced their feelings that they feel very fortunate to live in this beautiful country, and to be a part of the community among friendly people. Beck, Assistant Vice-President of a San Franciseo branch of Wells Fargo Bank, has served with the Naval Air Reserve since 1945. Capt. Schmidt, of Grass Valley, manager of Alpha Hardware in Nevada City, has been associated with the ‘‘Weekend Warrior’’ program since 1948. The pilot-officers of VS-873 fly the Grumman $2D twinengined radar tracking aircraft. Primary mission of the unit, if activated, would be the detection and destruction of enemy submarines. All PG&E employees in public contact positions carry wallet type identification cards bearing their photographs, the company reminded customers. Company representatives who normally have occasion to enter customers' property are uniformed and wear the PG&E emblem on shirts and jackets, the company notes, “PG&E employees do not perform termite repair services, rewiring jobs, or furnace replacements, nor do they charge for minor adjustments to appliances," PG&E cautions, "Customers are always notified of bill adjustments by mail and should not pay collectors who appear without prior mail notification." DEATHS HAZELTON—Funeral services for Mrs. Nellie E, Hazelton, who died November 28 at the age of 77, were held Saturday at Grass Valley. JOHNSON—Funeral services. for Sierra County Sheriff Wilbur Dewey Johnson, 69, were held Nov. 29 at the Bergemenn and Son Funeral Chapel in Nevada City. The Masonic Lodge and the Rev. SERVETTI — Memorial ser vices for Melanie Servetti, 77, Donner Lake, were held Nov. 30 in Grass Valley.
