North San Juan News by Idabel Covert Recent bride Cindy Gorman Murphy was the honored guest at a champagne bridal shower given by Karen Nemetz at her home last Saturday, December 2, About twenty guests attended the party, and Cindy received many lovely gifts. Mr, and Mrs, C, Haverty will be returning this week from a Thanksgiving vacation trip to Kansas to visit Mr. Haverty's family. Edith will continue her duties in connection with the annual Christmas program given by the Methodist Church, which this year will feature a "live", singing Christmas tree. The platforms for the singers to stand on are under construction, and will be ready for decorating and installation next Sunday. Leilani Greenley has been in charge of the choir in the absence of Mrs. Haverty. Paul Jarvis, who recently underwent heart surgery, was taken to the hospital late Saturday night with an apparent heart attack. At last report he was resting comfortably. Mr. Jarvis is a proprietor of Peterson's Corner, The regular meeting of the San Juan Ridge Union School board was held Monday, Dec. 4 at Cherokee School.
