"We are systematically visiting all retail outlets in Nevada
county to verify that these prohibited products are no longer
on the shelves," Phillips said.
"So far, we have had ex_cellent cooperation from store
operators, and compliance with
the new regulations has been
good." if the banned products
are found in a store, the opf erator is instructed to remove
them from sale and place them
in a storage area until arrangef ments have been made to return them to his supplier.
Failure of the store operators to comply will result in
placing the products under an
official quarantine order by the
state. Inspections in Nevada
county are part of a statewide
effort to prevent the use of DDT,
DDD and 2, 4,5-T in unlawful
ways, the commissioner said.
