* Grass Valley Resident Claims
to Loy L. Vose,
Vose, a resident of Henderson
Street in Grass Valley, registered
this complaint during the regular
city council meeting Tuesday
night.
Mayor John Hodge, with the
backing of Art Colon, head of the
Department of Public Works,
challenged Vose's statement. He
declared that periodic water inspections were received by the
council, and that he would be
glad to show them to Vose.
Hodge said he has drunk city
water for fifty years, and that it
is fit for human consumption.
Vose declared that the water
was inspected before it passed
through uncovered ditches, some
near cow pastures, and unsanitary
pipe lines to the home owners.
