The traffic patrol for Hennessey School is out in rain gear to safely escort tthe school children across the streets. Their job is one deserving credit. In this and Bruce Bernardis. . New section for Yuba College class A second section of classes for a course entitled ‘‘Aeronautics 50 Ground School for Potential Private Pilots’’ has been added to the Yuba College schedule, . according to college officials. Thomas Peppas, dean of special educational services, says the first section of classes, which meet on Thursday night, has been filled to capacity. Therefore, he says, a second section ofthe classes has now been scheduled for Tuesday _ nights.. Both class sections will meet from 7 until 10 o’clock in Room 804 of the college’s Science and Engineering Center. Myron Dodd, a teacher for the Yuba City Unified School District, will serve as insturctor. Peppas says the insturction is designed to prepare the sutdents to pass the Federal Aviation ‘ Administration’s written exams ‘for a private pilot’s license. Subjects covered in the classes will include theory of flight, basic navigation, Radio navigation, meteorology, engine operations and related topics. a Stiry time for 3-5 at libraries The children’s librarian will present a story time session for children 3 to 5 at the Grass Valley and Nevada City libraries. Lucia Walters will tell stories about lions, bears, elephants, monkeys, rabbits, a lamb and many other animals. Feb. 15 at the Nevada City library and Feb. 17 at the Grass ‘Valley library. The Feb. 15 story telling time in Nevada City is 2:30 p.m. with the Feb. 17 session, at the Grass Valley library, starting at 2 p.m. All children who have not yet started school are invited to attend one or both sessions.
