Pac-Tel Allocates
$1,400,000
ToNevada County
A “bare bones" 1967 financing program of $1, 400, 000 will
be spent in Nevada County this
year by Pacific Telephone for
new equipment and construction
projects,
Pacific Telephone Manager
G. O. Hutchins said, "This
year’s funds will go only to
‘ those projects that are vital to
meeting the demands of growth
in the Nevada City area”.
“We should be spending more
to meet future needs and to plan
for some recent modernizations
in communications, " Hutchins
said, “but our earnings are at
a critically low level and we
can afford nothing but bare
bones essentials, "
"There are now 2, 866 telephones in service in Nevada
City and studies indicate that
there will be an increase of
five to seven percent by the end
of the year, " Hutchins said.
During 1966, telephone customers in Nevada City placed
about 12, 914 calls each day.

economic impact of Pacific

Your Income Tax
Here's a word of advice from —
the® Internal Revenue Service:
After you prepare yout 1966
‘Federal income tax return, it
.is a good idea to set it aside
, for a day or so and then give it .
a thorough review be fore you
mail it,
_ District Director of ‘Internal
Revenue Joseph M. Cullen said
that taxpayers who heed. this

in arithmetic. A review of the
return may disclose that the
taxpayer failed to provide his
name, address, and zip code,
omitted his social security number or listed it incorrectly, did
not attach all copies of Form
