Joint installation of the Neva Rebekah Lodge No. 119, and Oustomah Lodge No. 16, were held last Saturday evening in Nevada City. Shown from left to right are District Deputy President Leonore Vind, installing officer; Jane Eliott, newly installed noble grand of Neva Rebekahs and Alfred Brass, noble grand of Oustomah; and. District Deputy Grand Master, Roman Rozynski, installing officer, Neva Rebekah Lodge No, 119. and Oustomah Lodge No. 16 met last Saturday night for installation, . The open meeting was ‘ attended by-many family membets, friends and visitors from other lodges. Retiring Noble Grand Martin Dalpez opened the _ festivities and welcomed the. District Deputy Grand Master, Roman Rozynski and his staff, Led by the Deputy Grand Master and the Deputy Marshal, William Mullis, they worked through the complicated ritual of installing themselves into their own lodge quickly and efficiently. Alfred Brass was installed as Noble Grand and Drew Elliott as Vice Grand, The installing officers for the Neva Rebekahs were District Deputy President Leonore Vind and District Deputy Marshall Dorothy Slack and staff from Naomi Lodge No, 2 of Truckee, Installed for the ensuing term were, Jane Elliott, noble grand; Helen Cox, vice grand; Jean Brass, recording secretary ; Betty Smart, financial secretary; Gladys Stokes, treasurer; Lyla Dybe, warden; Doris Bertram, conductor ;Ethel Polglase, chaplain; Dorothy Stetson, musician; Cizella Dalpez, color bearer; right and left supporters to the noble grand; Hildred Branson and Pearl Rozynski, right and left supporters to the vice grand; Hilda Shotts and Thelma Dundas, banner bearers to the past noble grand;and Pauline Stevens and Julia Rudisill banner bearers to the chaplain, Retiring Noble Grand, Esther Foster, received her past grand's pin from Pauline Mullis and her officer*’s gift, aBible, was presented by Lyla Dybe. Soroptimist Bill Dolan, Nevada City Fire Chief, was the speaker at the February 8 meeting of the Nevada City Soroptimisf Club, He explained how the use of portable Fire Gall Units would greatly increase the efficiency of the Rescue Unit in answering calls, These units are ar 1 'e-for contacting individual men wherever they may be. Now is the time to order these trees as there is a better selection, and by planting early, the dogwood has a better, chance to adjust.
