Webb, director of industrial relations, Although this gain is measured from a flood-depressed employment level a year ago, Webb pointed out that even with this factor discounted, the margin of employment growth continued to widen from the year-earlier level. Excluding agriculture, lumber, construction, and related indus-~ tries most affected last year by floods, the total January -toJanuary increase in the remaining categories was in the neighborhood of 275,000 to 280,000.
