February 17, 1966.Nevada County Nugget. .xJ Book Sale Here Offers Some Rare Items Several rare and old books will be featured in the Silent Auction at the Friends of the Libraries Book Sale tomorrow and Saturday in the Nevada City Library basement, An edition of Beautiful Califomia, a folio with text by John Muir and engravings and etchings by Keith and Hill, the Naval History of the Civil War, a Dickens folio, and first editions of Wallace Nutting's Beautiful America and of Gertrude Atherton will all be auctioned, Ina silent auction, a minimum bid is placed in the book and those who wish to bid more write down their name and the price they would pay. At the end-of the sale, the highest bid marked on the slip of paper receives the G.V.
