This was despite highway reconstruction and flood damaged facilities in several ateas. Statistics show a total of 46,750 recreation visits representing about 190,000 man daysuse. Camping and picnicking at Wild Plum were curtailed during 1963 because of flood destruction ofthe older Keefer bridge. Flood damaged campground facilities have been almost completely repaired which together with restored access at Wild Plum point to a probable increase in recreation use for 1964, . ties are included in the chapter, Local Women. _ Attend Meet The California Nursing Homes, Sanitariums, Rest Homes and Homes for the Aged Association held its quarterly meeting earlier this month at the Wayside Inn in Paso Robles. Mrs. Ruby Wall, Grass Valley, and Mrs. Maxine Reed, Nevada City, both attended the meeting. Mrs. Wall, ofOak Park Nursing Home, serves as a director to the board representing the Sierra Chapter of the association, a chapter which covers most of Northern California. Nine counwith 30 care facilities having almost 700 beds for the care of the aging. Mrs. Reed, Echo Valley Home for Senior Citizens, is membership chairman for the Sierra Chapter. Mrs. Reed reported that Tom Piott, director of Aging Services
Bureau in California, discussed Joint Licensing Service. This new office will coordinate all facilities forcare of the aged under one head within the Public Health Department's jurisdiction. Johnson OnMexicanPanel Congressman Harold T. Johnson has been appointed a member of the House of Representatives delegation tothe Fourth MexicoUnited States Interparliamentary Group. The appointment was announc ~ ed by House SpeakerJohn W. McCormack of Massachusetts. U.S. Congressmen and Senators will meet in Washington with their counterparts from Mexico to discuss a variety of mutual problems and projects. The sessions will be held March 5-10.
