Off the beaten track
Grass Valley will receive
$27,000, Nevada City $9,000 and
Nevada County will get $25,000
this week from local sales and
use tax funds received by the
State Board of Equalization with
fourth-quarter 1972 tax returns.
The cities of the state will
counties $7.7 million for a
combined distribution total of
$25,000 Nevada County will
receive an additional $13,500
from the % per cent sales and
use tax for the county local
transportation fund. A total of
$13.7 million will be distributed
to the state’s counties in this
category.
The San Francisco Bay Area
Rapid Transit District will
receive $3.5 million from the
‘additional % per cent transaction and use tax collected in
the BART counties of San
Francisco, Alameda and Contra
Costa.
The grand total of $75,251,000
represents the third advance
payment to the cities and
counties of funds received from
business taxpayers for the
fourth-quarter 1972. Two
previous advance payments of
fourth-quarter receipts, in
December and January, each
totaled $37.6 million. The
