The former Nevada City great who is now attending Sierra College at Rocklin breezed through a 10-mile time trial Saturday, riding a sloping course in 25:30, The winning time broke the two-year old record for the Castro Valley. course set by Oscar Swan in 1969. Davis clipped six seconds off the previous record. On Sunday Davis headed a large field in a 45-mile road race. and lost by a wheel. to Nick Farac of San Jose.
