AN ORDINANCE REPEALING._SECTIONS G-IV 1.1 THROUGH G-IV
1.64, AND ENACTING NEW SECTIONS G-IV 1.1 THROUGH G-IV 1.55,
BEING SECTIONS OF ARTICLE 1, CHAPTER IV, GENERAL CODE
. OF THE COUNTY OF NEVADA. (ESTABLISHING HUMANE ANIMAL
CONTROL FOR NEVADA COUNTY). 7
THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF NEVADA,
STATE OF CALIFORNIA, DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION .
Sections G-IV 1.1 through G-IV 1.64 of the General. Code of the County
lowing new sections. are hereby enacted, which sections shall be codified as G-IV 1.1
through G.I V 1.55, being sections of Article 1 of Chapter IV of the General
Code of Nevada County. . 3
Section G-IV 1.1
GEOGRAPHICAL AREA COVERED BY THE ORDINANCE

Section G-IV 1.2SHORT TITLE
This article shall be known as, and may be referred fo as ‘Nevada
County Humane Animal Control Ordinance’. i :

PURPOSES OF THE ARTICLE
This article has two purposes:
(a) To provide for the registration, antirabiesvaccination,and

Section G-IV 1.4> DEFINITIONS
When used in this article, the following words and phrases shall haveibed to them in this section.

SECTION Vii

SECTION XIV
Section G-IV 1.14RETURN OF MONEY TO
OWNER OF LIVESTOCK ANIMAL.
If, within sixty days of a sale made under the preceding section, a person
shall prove that he was the owner of the animal sold, the Board
Supervisors may allow a claim in favor. of such person, payable out of
General Fund, for the amount paid into the treasury on account of
animal, less costs incurred by the Animal Shelter.
SECTION XV
Section G-IV 1.15REGISTER TO BE KEPT BY CHIEF
The Chief shall maintain an accurate register in which he shall enter
a description of each animal impounded, the time and place where said
animal was taken up, and a statement as to the disposition of said animal
pursuant to this article. The Chief is encouraged to keep photographs to
suoolement the written description. :
Whenever any impounded animal has been sold or redeemed, the
Chief shall enter in the register the date of the sale.or redemption, the
name and address and telephone number of the individval who purchased
or redeemed the animal, the redernption fee paid or the price paid in the
sale of the animal, and the total costs and expenses incurred by the
Animal Shelter for the care and maintenance of the animal.

SECTION XVI 5
: Section G-IV 1.16 VACCINATION
Every dog over four (4) months of age shall havea medically
vaccination with a canine anti-rabies vaccine approved by the Health
Department. of the State of California. Such vaccination shall be administered by a véterinarian or as provided through County-recognized

four (4) months of age shall have ten (10) days in which to comply with
provisions of this : the section.
