Michael Fowler of Diversified
Investments, Inc. received
approval Friday from the
Nevada Irrigation District
board of directors to proceed
with plans for construction of
rental cabins at Scotts Flat
Reservoir.
Fowler said he plans_ to
construct 50 cabins in the
project’s first-phase with 150 to
' be added in phase two. The total
project would take up
approximately 300 of the 1150
acres around the lake.
Board member James A.
McAdams said the project
would give NID some funds for
which to build recreational
facilities around its reservoirs.
“We haven’t been breaking even
on our concessionaire
agreements in the past so
maybe this will allow us to do
so”, he said.
NID is projected to receive
$140,000 initially and
approximately $84,000 a year
thereafter.
It was noted that the plans do
not meet with the approval of
those involved with DavisGrunsky Act funding at the state
level but NID’s legal counsel
feels that the district’s contracts
with Davis-Grunsky do not
prohibit additional recreational
facilities.
At the present time there are
no cabin developments on any of
the 30-odd Davis-Grunsky lakes
but Fowler and the NID board
felt that Scotts Flat is an ideal.
location for one as it is close-in
and is sure to be heavily used in
future years.
A stipulation to the agreement
requires approval at all
governmental levels from the
county planning commission to
the state.
In other action the board
listened to Jim Vellema of the
Rollscott Corporation,
concessionaire at Rollins
Reservoir, argued that his
organization should have a right
to submit a competitive
proposal concerning secondstage recreational facilities at
Rollins. The board is in the
process of drawing up an
agreement with Cranmer
Engineering which would give
that firm the engineering
contract for all second-stage
work at Jackson Meadows,
Faucherie, Scotts Flat and
Rollins.
The board suggested that
Rollscott get together with
Cranmer and try to work out a
deal whereby each would be
satisfied.

this happens, obtain the forms
from the assessor’s office.
