He was placed on three years probation and is to pay $100 a month towards support while working and $75 a month if he should become unemployed. John Elliott, 18, Grass Valley, pled guilty to marihuana possession and to being drunk in a public place. Sentencing will take place after a review of the defendant by the probation department. Richard Arlen Tvetan, 38, Sacramento, was arrested by patrolling Deputy Sheriff Troy Arbaugh, near Easy Street in Penn Valley at midnight on November 18, 1973. He was observed driving in a wavy manner and was charged with drunken driving. He had requested a court trial without jury. The court appointed Public Defender William Hager. Tvetan, admitted to seven or eight beers but maintained it did not impair his driving ability. Judge Gray found the defendant guilty, sentencing him to 48 hours in jail, a $500 fine with $250 suspended with attendance at an_ alcoholic rehabilitation center mandatory. District Attorney Ronald MacMillen personally handled the prosecution. Lucy Ann Martin, 42, LaBarr Meadows, escaped a fine for hazardous parking on Coyote Street during the recent snow storm but received a. lecture from Judge Gray for .compounding an already dangerous
situation on a snow blocked street by parking in a traffic . lane. She presented a Polaroid photo, showing the snow bank and the absence of regular parking places.
