Introduced By Cameron
A Resolution asking for
early Congressional action to
authorize the Auburn Dam
and Folsom South Canal Project was introduced in the
Senate by Senator RonaldG. Cameron, of Auburn.
T.he Resolution emphasizes
that the project is part of the
California Water Plan and
would help in the State's
efforts to meet California's
water requirements.
An ‘authorization bill for
the project has been introduced in Congress by Senators
Clair Engle and Thomas H.
Kuchel, and congressmen
Harold T. Johnson, John E.
Moss, and John F. McFall,
_all of California.
“Federal planning on these
developments is virtually
complete,” said Senator
Cameron, “Authorization
by Congress would mean that
efforts can be made at this
session to obtain preliminary
appropriations for the dam
and canal project.
“We need both large and
small water development
projects to meet the potential population growth that
exists in northern California.
"People of the State have
authorized and partially financed the Feather River
Project for State construction. Butit meets only part
