units in the Aerospace. Defense Command, U.S. Air Forces
in Europe, Pacific Air Forces, and Alaskan Air Command,
U.S, Air Forces in Europe, Pacific Air Forces, and Alaskan
Air Command competed for the impressive gold and silver
rotating trophy awarded for outstanding achievement among
interceptor squadrons engaged in air defense. Sgt. Lambert
is an air armament superintendent with the Aerospate De3 fense Command's winning squadron. ADC's 71st, which flies
7 the. F-106Delta Dart,. earned the annual award for posting
the highest percentage of successful intercept and identification missions, high accuracy rate in weapons firing, overall operational efficiency and flying safety. During the competition period, the 71st deployed-to Osan Air Base, Republic
of Korea, for six. months temporary duty flying air defense
missions in support of free world forces in the area, Within
hours after landing at Osan, the squadron scrambled to identify unknown aircraft operating’ over the Sea of Japan.
