The dam is near completion, the road over the dam is still closed. Local agencies receive vehicle license money SACRAMENTO ~— California's cities and counties have shared $19,242,629 in the first apportionment -of motor vehicle license fees for fiscal year 196970, State Controller Houston LFlournoy reported today. He was born in 1933, and died December 1969, making him 36 years-old by horse standards, He was buried in an alfalfa filled grave on a Penn Valley Ranch, Mrs, Lolmaugh, an ayid horseback rider, received Black Diamond as a birthday gift from her husband some 30 year's ago. ‘The horse and his owner covered many -trails in those years, but in. past months Mrs, Lolmaugh said she let Black Diamond -"tell me" when the ride was over. Several generations of chil9 dren fed the ‘saddle horse tidbits from their lunch baskets as they passed the Lolmaugh resi~ dence on their way to school. He looked for his little friends, and asked them for these handouts in a “horsey sort of way", according to Mrs. Lolmaugh. Black Diamond knew the sound of a lawn mower and it had a special meaning to him. He relished the. tasty green morsals that néighboring gardeners brought in-response to his neigh, plainly asking for the lush green trimmings.
