Leisuretime Activities ; “Sunshine Boys” at Sacto Civic Neil Simon’s hilarious comedy hit ‘The Sunshine Boys” will be the third play of the Sacramento Civic Theater’s 1975-76 Bicentennial season. The opening of “The Sunshine Boys” in New York marked an even dozen plays or musicals from the Simon Me,” “Barefoot in the Park,” “The Odd Couple,” ‘Sweet Charity,” “Star Spangled Girl,” ‘Plaza Suite,” “Promises, Promises,’ “The Last of the Red Hot Lovers,” “The Gingerbread Lady,” and “The Prisoner of Second Avenue” (an Eaglet hit last season). _ “The Sunshine Boys” is about two vaudeville partners who respected each other but incessantly for forty-three years. They have not spoken or communicated in the eleven years since their retirement. The plot involves an attempt to reunite them for a television special. Simon’s uproarious variation on the famous Dr. Kronkite sketch is the climax of this outlandishly funny and touching play. “The Sunshine Boys” will play four weekends, Fridays and , January 16 through February 7, with two special matiness on Sundays, February 1 and 8. Admission is $3.00 for evening performances, $2.00 for matinees with students half-price for all performances.
