members chose Connie Ziemer,
Elizabeth Spring and Barbara
Webstér to plan a bake sale for
Jan. 26 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The sale will be held in front of
Alpha Hardware inNevada City
with proceeds to be used for the
club’s landscaping project of the
American Victorian Museum in
Nevada City.
Members will prepare for the
Feb. 23 Demonstration Day at
the Feb. 7 meeting. The club is
hoping for all member
participation in this county
event.

Sewage problems in North
San Juan remain unsolved —

visualizes ‘‘a mass evacuation”’
by 1977 in the North San Juan
area unless exisiting sewage
disposal problems are
corrected.

stringent orders concerning the
area. Discharge of waste from
leaching and _ percolation
systems installed there after
Jan. 1 is prohibited, After July 1,
1977 the continmed discharge of
waste from these systems is
forbidden. Construction of septic

locations is verboten. The water
board ‘‘encourages” the county
to establish interim or permanent regulations governing
septic systems which will
conform, or be equal to, those in
the Water Quality Control

Chairman Larry Filer considered the communication a
“cease and desist order for the
North San Juan area” from the
state. Curran urged the board
“to get something done”’ before
a mass evacuation takes place.
“We have been given a
deadline,’’ he emphasized.
Sewage disposal in North San
Juan has been an on-going
_ problem for some time and
preliminary correctional studies
have been ordered.
In other action former
entitled,
chairman Bob Long returned to
update supervisors on latest
developments concerning
Weimar. Long was the board’s
delegate to the Weimar Hospital
Central Committee. Nevada
county has realized $18,000 from
the Weimar sale. The money
ts certain aspects of the

A three-unit course in
automotive technology will be
offered at Sierra College during
the spring semester.
The course, automotive
technology 65B, is an advanced
course in wheel alignment and
pertains to standard and power posit
steering units with emphasis on
advanced corrections of wheel
alignment problems. Robert
Billings will be the instructor for
the class, Mondays from 8 to 10
a.m. and Fridays from 8 a.m. to
noon.
Enrollment for the class will
take place at regular day class
registration Jan. 21 25. For
