A $500,000 damage suit against
Lake of the Pines subdivision
has been filed in an attempt to
halt construction and operation
of a sewage pond systemThe Nevada County Superior
Court ‘complaint against Boise
Cascade Recreation Community
and
Lake
of
the
Pines
Association alleges the sewage
lagoons,
now’
under
‘con
struction, will produce ‘‘noxious
gases’’ and the seeping of
pollutants onto the adjacent
lands owned by plaintiffs in the
suit.
The seven landowners listed
as plaintiffs also seek an injunction to halt the construction
and use of the ponds and a court
judgment that the operation
would constitute a ‘continuing
private nuisance.”
The complaint also seeks a
total of $40,000 for individual
damages plus the punitive
damages of $500,000. Costs of
