This week fifty years ago Exactly 12 feet of new snow was reported to have fallen on Donner Summit and the railroad crews were laboring to keep the high mountain right-of-way open for traffic. A foot of new snow fell in North Bloomfield, Bloody Run reported 30 inches and Omega, 27 inches. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Turner of Camptonville, a venerable and respected couple, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in the little village where they had spent their entire married life and reared their family. Betsey was a member of the Midos tribe and was well liked by the white community.
