Johnson has announced his
nominations to the various
service schools of the government,
"Because of the importanceto both the individuals
involved and the nation itself, I gave considerable
study before determining the
most equitable method of
selecting the outstanding
young men to compete for
this honor,” Congressman
Johnson said.
A pair of Rough and Ready
twins will make a threepronged attack on the final
examinationsto enter one of
the three major academies,
the congressman announced,
Jerry and John Woods, 18
year old twin sons of Air
Force Majorand Mrs, Elmer
A. Woods, will take the final entrance examinations
forthe Air Force, Naval and
Military academies.
The twins served as president and vice-president of
Nevada Union High School
prior to graduation. They
were lettermen in football,
baseball and basketball,
Both participated in a specialsummer science program
sponsored by Humboldt State
College, Both balanced their
outstanding athletic record
with high scholastic standings.
Among those nominated to
the Air Force Academy is
James Lee Milliken, 19, son
of Mr, and Mrs, Joseph L,
Milliken, Auburn, Milliken
graduated from Placer High
School and has been active
in Scouting and in California
Cadet Corps where he served
as battalion commander, He
was active in judoand track,

Council, City Hall, 317 Broad Street, Nevada City, California, the Councilmen of the City of Nevada City, as
