(A selection of significant reports from the ‘U. S. metropolitan press and national periodicals.)
Khrushchev stressed the need for "peaceful co-existance”.
but warned that RUSSIA could destroy any capitalist
aggressor in a matter of “hours---short hours” and that.
that millions of members of the working class in capitalist countries would be killed. This statement was interpreted tobe an attack against Communist China's unrelenting nuclear war policy.

Communist CHINA'S current policy towards war and
peace was revealed in an editorial in the official party
newspaper in Peking. The editorial stated that nuclear
war would end in the “extinction of imperialism and
definitely not in the extinction of mankind"; co-existence between East and West is “inconceivable without
struggle"; and only when socialist nations possess great
superiority in nuclear weapons cana ban on sucess weapons be achieved.

Powerful Air Force leaders and their Congressional supporters in Washington are planning a last ditch effort to
save the future of manned bombers by getting support for
either the Skybolt air-to-ground missile or the RS 70 project.: The RS 70 plane would be a high altitude supersonic reconnaissance bomber. The Administration: has
cancelled plans forthe Skybolt and does not seem to feel
that the RS 70 is an essential part of our defense system.
Congress has appropriated money for the building of the
