This year two University of California students have been selected by the Heart ‘Association to receive $750 stipends and individual tenweek assignments working with prominent research scientists in the Sacramento area. Miss Karen Auditore, a senior at UC, Davis, majoring in Biological Sciences will be working with Dr. Anthony DeMaria at the Sacramento Medical Center where her main source of investigation will be working in the field of echo cardiography. a Mr. Darrell Wilson who is a graduate student at UC, Davis, in the field of biomedical engineering has been assigned to work in the-areas of circuit design for medical instruments and . coordination and analyzation of ‘data received through heart catheterization. At the end of their ten-week assignment, both students will participate in area roundtables to discuss and evaluate their summer’s work. Each will also submit a personal evaluation of the program at that time.
