The Fai
The Board of directors of the
Nevada County District Fair met
last week and reviewed last
minute details for the 23rd Annual
Fair which will be held August
26th through 29th,
All inside space has been sold
for several weeks and space outside is being taken very rapidly.
Anyone interested in outside
space should contact SecretaryManager, Malcolm E, Hammill
at the Fairgrounds at once,
The concessions are all signed
up, representatives-of local clubs,
fire departments and civic groups
who are having food and drink
concessions this year will meet
Friday night at the Fairgrounds
Administration Office to discuss
prices and policies.
The directors spent an hour on
the fairgrounds trying to find a
location for.the Placer-Nevada
Cow Belles to build a Red Barn,
It is the goal of the California
Cow Belles tohave a Red Barn on
every Fair grounds in California
for the promotion of the beef
cattle industry.
In selecting a location the
master plan must be considered,
power lines, water lines and a
location that is a safe distance
from other buildings and will not
block out any buildings that are
all ready constructed as location
of buildings has been carefully
studied by the State Department
of Architecture.
The board selected an area in
which they feel the Red Barn
should be built and representatives of the Cow Belles will be
called to meet with Hammill to
approve and select the exact
location. It is hoped that the
Red Barn can be constructed in
time for the 1965 Fair.

Home Show Is
Set For August
The public is invited to the
second annual Home and Cabin
Tour to be held at Donner Lake
Sunday, August 1,-at-12:30-p.m.,
from Donner Lake Lodge on old
Hiway 40.
Six homes willbe visited, some
on the lake and some back in the
wood section. All of different
architecture, from the "do-ityourselfer" tothe designer house.
Novel fireplaces, modem paneling and rare furniture in the log
cabin and "A" frame structures
will interest men as well as
women,
If needed, transportation will
be available from mem bers of the
Donner Lake Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary who
