Exercise can cut driving fatigue
The danger of monotony for the
highway driver is always there
behind the scenes.
To ward off getting restless
behind the wheel, keep your
muscles loose and your mind
active.
And you can do this, advises
the National Automobile Club,
by exercising right there behind
the wheel. Of couse, this must
be exercise in moderate
amounts, nothing strenuous,
For something simple that
doesn't put much strain on your
physical makeup, try tensingthe _
upper leg muscles, holding them
for a count of six. Repeat 10
times, but make sure you relax
during each interval. Without
disturbing your control of the
wheel, this exercise works with
arm muscles too.
Sitting up straight and pullingin your stomach muscles to a
count of six makes a good followup exercise.
By keeping your muscles loose
and your mind active, you won't
be taken in by that monotony on
the highway.
