Last Tuesday a fourteen-foot ledge

~ The Shebley Hatchery.
The State Fish Commissioners’ report has the following concerning the
Shebley Hatchery in this county: This
hatchery was established in May, 1883.
During that year there _ were
hatched and distributed over 95,000
trout. In the year 1884 about 250,000.
In the year 1885 about 150,000: During this year, up to the present time,
over 100,000. The output for the yeur
1887 should not be-less than 300,000.
The trout distribution from Chabot for
the two years preceding 1883 amounted-to only 87,000. The maintenance
cost of the hatchery at Chabot (condenned in 1883) was $2560 per month;
cost of the Shebley, $100 per month.
