AN ORDINANCE CREATING THE POSITION OF, AND DESIGNATING
THE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF, THE BUILDING AND
GROUNDS SUPERINTENDENT,
THEBOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNT Y OF NEVADA DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I DESIGNATION:
There is hereby created the position of Building and Grounds
Superintendent in the Classified service of the County of Nevada.
SECTION Il METHOD OF APPOINT MENT AND REMOVAL:
The selection of a person as Building and Grounds Superintendent
shall be by appointment of the Board-of Supervisors, and he shall
serve at the will and pleasure of the Board.
SECTION III DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1, The Building and Grounds Superintendent shall be directly
responsible to the Board of Supervisors for the care, maintenance,
and operation of all County owned, rented, or leased buildings
within the County, except the County Hospital; subject only to the
policies determined by the Board of Supervisors.
2. The Building and Grounds Superintendent shall be directly
responsible to the Board of Supervisors for the operation and maintenance of all refuse dumps owned or leased by the County; subject
only to the policies determined by the Board, ee hae to th
3. The Building and Grounds Superintendent shall, on order of
the Board, prepare remodelling programs for County buildings,
and shall supervise those programsthat may be adopted by the Board
of Supervisors,
4, Any remodelling or alteration programs in any County owned,
rented, or leased building, shall be approved by the Board of
Supervisors prior to commencement of such remodelling or alteration,
5. The Building and Grounds Superintendent shall be in charge
of all buildings and grounds maintenance appropriations budgeted
by the Board of Supervisors, except those appropriations budgeted
for the County Hospital.
6. The Building and Grounds Superintendent shall be in-charge
of all building maintenance personnel that are now, or that may be
hereafter, employed by the County; except those maintenance
personnel employed at the County Hospital.
SECTION IV REPORTS:
The Building and Grounds Superintendent shall report to the Board,
in writing, the activities of his department at least once each calendar month,
SECTION V OTHER DUTIES:
The Building and Grounds Superintendent shall perform all other
duties assigned to him by order of the Board,
SECTION VI EFFECTIVE DATE:
This Ordinance shall become operative on the Ist day of July, 1965,

This Ordinance shall, before the expiration of fifteen (15) days
after its passage, be published once with the names of the members
voting for and against the same in the Union, a newspaper of
general circulation, printed and published in the County of Nevada.
ADOPTED as an Ordinance of the County of Nevada, by the Board
of Supervisors at a regular meeting thereof, held on the Ist day of
June, 1965, by the following vote:
