An auto salvage yard along
State Highway 49 at the south
city limits of Grass Valley will
be screened with trees and
shrubs following the opening of
sealed bids. for the project at
Marysville district headquarters
of the State Division of Highways.
Tak R. Kato of Sacramento
was low at $6,574.75 among
three bidders for the job. The
others were Sunset Gardens of
Roseville, $6,594.82 and A.F,
Stein Landscape Co, of Stockton, $7,198.50.
Route 49 is included in the
state master plan of scenic
highways and both the roadway
and the roadside areas will be
