of water and two permits of
locat interest were received and
granted recently by the State
Water Resources Control Board.
The application submitted in
May was from Richard R. and
Nevada S. Lewis of Sierra City
for water from Wixon Spring
for irrigation, domestic, recreational and fire protection
purposes,
The two permits issued in
May went to Lamond Kenneth
and Betty June Laughlin of Grass
Valley for water from an unnamed stream, tributary to
French Ravine, for irrigation,
domestic, stockwatering and fire

Installation of officers of the
Veterans of Foreign Wars the
‘49"ers Post 9878, and its Auxiliary, was held at Babe's Hall in
North San Juan on May 28. Due to
the inclement weather, only afew
of the ladies were on hand for
the affair. The men had a better
representation.
