The Nevada County Nugget
was sold tothe Nevada County
Publishing Company last Friday, it was announced by
George Kane, previous publisher of The Nugget, and R,
Peter Ingram, publisher of The
Union, The Nevada County
Publishing Company is the
owner of The Union.
The 41 year old Nugget will
continue publication, featuring
an independent éditorial policy
and historical and pictorial
_ coverage ofthe area, Full circulation coverage of western
Nevada County will be maintained with The Nugget and
The Nugget Advertiser, a controlled circulation paper.
The Nugget was established
in 1926, It was purchased in
1966 from Mr, Alfred Heller
by The Nugget Publishing Co.,
of which Mr, Kane was presi«
dent,
The newspaper has been an
award~winning paper in recent
years, including classifications
of general excellence in'1964
