Night Deposivory Safe Deposit Boxes Girl to man TNF lookout On June 15, the Big Bend © Ranger District opened the Grouse Ridge lookout for the summer season, Mollie M, Thomas, a resident of Sacramento and a forestry student at Sierra College, was put up as the new lookout. She was taken up by John M. Guthrie, Big Bend District fire control officer, in the Tahoe Forest over-snow vehicle, "The Imp," since there is still eight feet of snow at the lookout, Grouse Ridge is consideredto be one of the primary lookouts on the Tahoe National Forest, Mollie's main concern will be fire detection, but she. will also answer questions and give out’ maps to about 2,000 visitors this summer, Since Grouse Ridge is considered to be the eyes and the ears of the Tahoe, she will be kept busy receiving and sending messages and other information for the Big Bend District plus all of the other districts on the forest. Dance club ‘hobos' hold barbecue "Real out" hobos, members of the Merry. Makers. Dance Club, enjoyed a barbecue June 14 at Seaman's Lodge, Nevada City. f The hobos, dressed in patches, _ jeans and what have you, were Served barbecued hamburgers and assorted salads by the committee in charge, Even the music of the evening followed the "hobo" theme, and was so exhilarating the members present decided this sort of thing must be repeated.
