news from now until after July
4 will be filled with "Secession".
There are so many exciting
things happening I can't keep up
with them all, "Sandy" Farber
just stopped by to leave the
old Fippin anvil for us. Sandy's
sorority at Chico State featured
Lotta Crabtree in their recent
celebration of Pioneer Days, and
used the old anvil in the Rough
and Ready scenes about ner life.
Lotta gave her first performance
on this anvil to the lusty cheers
of a crowd of miners. She was °
6 years old and the anvil had
already made its famous covered
wagon journey across the plains,
One of our Secession Day plays
this year will be this story. We
“are inviting the Fippin family
to our celebration and will dedicate the anvil to the old pioneers
of Rough and Ready at that time.

All sensible sheep breeders
have lambs in December and
January. No so our strictly
amateur venture. We have anew _
baby born June 1. Mr. Bixler
says this is the newest thing
in progressive sheep breeding.
This must prove that our "pets"
are progressive, We will probably name the newborn "Bonus",
Save June 29 for the Chamber
