State approves plans.
"I am gratified" was George
Higgins' remark when telling
the Nevada City School board
that the state had approved plans
for the new Seven Hills School,
Bids are now being requested
with a special meeting June 17
the date set for opening of bids.
Bids will be opened at 7:30 p.m.
in the auditorium of Nevada City
Elementary School. Architect
Higgins said his’ estimate for
the school, minus paving, is approximately $720,000.
Supt. Dan Woodard. told the
trustees that Higgins is ready
to advertise for bids for the
second portion of the school
should Proposition 7 pass -on
the June 2 ballot. Proposition
1. would raise the maximum interest rate for public utility
and school bonds to seven percent,
The state has $50-million in
bonds ready to sell by the middle of June if the vote passes,

golf tournanment set for June
